There’s a small grocer on the other side, which reminded me of Nau’s Enfield drug store (they serve up some badass burgers). I went inside once…I always thought it would be cool to have a local grocery store to pick up stuff.

This place is fairly unpretentious, tucked away in a neighborhood corner off Anderson Lane. It’s right across from a pharmacy.I immediately fell in love with this place. Not to sound gay, but this place is cute and cozy. Heck, it’s got a gazebo right out front. It would make an excellent date spot around 7:30pm or after, when it’s not so busy. It’s got nice wooden benches for larger parties. The inside is cozy as well. Small, with about three tables and lots of family collages, which I presume are from the owner’s. Not only do they serve great deli sandwiches, but Little Deli is now also home to my favorite pizza in Austin.

And everyone there is so friendly. One of the workers Desiree was really friendly and fun to talk to. Tony came out to say hi at one point. Did I mention the outdoor seating? So peaceful.

Now onto the pizza. Absolutely loved it.I got a sausage pizza freshly made, and the ingredients are just so tasty and perfect. The crust is nothing short of amazing, not quite NY-style — it’s got it’s own unique texture. It hit a unique sweet spot of having a thicker crust than real NY-style pizza, but maintaining fabulous crust and excellent tasty toppings. The italian sausage was KILLER, soooo goood. But seriously, back to the crust. It was fantastic. Slightly chewy and not hardened that it hurts your gums when you eat it. (Pizza can be devastating on your upper gums if it has the deadly HOT mozzarella followed by overly tough crust). It was just…great. You gotta try it.

Pizza by the slice $3 cheese, $3.60 for specialty, but Desiree says they quickly run out by 7:30pm or so.

And they’ve got sandwiches and deserts!

Looking forward to the next time I visit this tiny deli.
