Their version of Hawaiin pizza. Canadian bacon, pineapple, and red oinons. Go the 8″ but this time thin crust.
I’d like to bluntly state that I was damn hungry (after being sick for almost a whole week). I hadnt had pizza since NYC, and been craving. When the plate came out, I was surprised how tiny it was. Finished this pizza real qiuck. It just doesn’t compare to NY pizza. This is just thinned out CraigO’s pizza, which is actually the a bad point for CraigO’s. You get less bang for the buck. Spent almost $9 for this pizza, and yes, left me unsatisfied as far as hunger goes. But CraigO’s surprises me everytime. I think i want to attribute the greatness to the sauce. It has hints of garlic, and is just so flavorful and good without being sharp and overpowering. Their dough is delicious, though very soft on texture, which doesnt make it feel like other pizzas (good or bad?). Their ingredients taste fresh, too.
Big Kahuna. An ironic name for the size I ordered, but all the taste was there.

CraigO’s seems like a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but is pretty popular in the local neighborhood (I live less than five minutes away). Lots of people come in to order, pickup pizza, or get seated in this pizza joint.
I ordered the Pesto Parmasean: Pesto sauce, parmesan chicken, red onions, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese & fresh parmesan. Pesto sauce, parmesan chicken, red onions, tomatoes, mozzarellacheese & fresh parmesan.
You wouldn’t think this pizza is great from the photos. And I was surprised that a non-thin-crust pizza would be this good. But let me say CraigO’s makes excellent pizza. Tasty ingredients, and doughy crust in a tasty artisan-bread-like way. And oil drizzled nicely atop. It’s defnitely a different type of flavor pizza, a good break from NY-style pizzas.
Look forward to getting more pizzas here!

There are places so unassuming that you can only hope come out with a pair of Reeboks. Ok that didn’t make sense. But here’s the scene: Ugly brown brick plaza. Stuck between an applebee’s and behemoth sam’s club. White logo-type that screams Microsoft Word Art. That is CraigO’s, the one on 290 in southwest austin.
To my surprise, I ended up thoroughly enjoying my experience. it is super comfortable, great place to relax for a late afternoon.
At the counter i was recommended to try the White Itialian: alfredo chicken pizza. So that’s what I got. From the menu, this awesome pizza contains: Sicilian chicken with roasted garlic, alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, red onions & fresh cilantro. Yummers. And they have a old school punch card.

Seriously, the crust/dough here is what makes CraigO’s pizza good stuff. It’s not NY thin (which I favor more than all the rest), or thick like pizza hut. It’s just good stuff. Great ingredients, and the white italian i got was hearty, though a little dry. The alfredo taste was hard to pick up, and i expected the sauce to be noticeable. Despite that fact, there was a considerable amount of grease left on the box when I finished. Cheese was a little sparse, but that was cool with me. I might just ask for a little olive oil sprinkling everytime on their white pies…it really enhances the pizza experience!
They have good wi-fi here and plenty of tables…not too crowded…always serve pizza by the slice.
When the server checked up on me, I mentioned how i love the crust. She shares how they make all the dough there and use pizza stones in their ovens instead of conveyor belt. They also have a thin-crust, I may have to order both versions next time I come here.
